Falls Prevention

Healthy You offers tailored exercise classes for adults aged 60 and over, specifically designed for people who are feeling less steady on their feet, have experienced a fall or are concerned about having a fall.

We go beyond simple exercises. Our 12-week specialist programme combines NICE-compliant risk assessments and social wellbeing support.

While it’s natural for muscle strength and balance to decline with age, this does not have to be inevitable. The Falls Prevention Exercises classes are a face-to-face offer with specific exercises that are underpinned by evidence from the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) to improve strength and balance.

Working with a qualified Falls Management Exercise Practitioner, participants meet in local community venues and work in small, supportive groups on a range of exercises that improve general fitness, increase confidence with everyday tasks, improve balance and provide a social opportunity to meet up with like-minded people.

This is a free 24-week service for eligible adults. All you need to bring is your own commitment to the weekly classes.
